FireHouse Design Company is a graphic design studio operated by myself, Carol Ellison Key. 
I also happen to be a professional firefighter and Captain of an engine company in Greensboro, NC. 
When not fighting fires, I specialize mostly in printed materials including logos, brochures, and specialty publications, as well as painting murals for clients both large and small. I’ve had over fifteen years experience as an independent designer. Recently, I’ve gone back to my roots of fine art and enjoy painting in oils. Crows are always around on my property. Sometimes you don’t even realize they’re there. But I find myself frequently including them as a little nod to their ever presence in my life. This was done as an auction piece in the Center for Visual Arts 100×100 show to raise money for the Center.

Painted specifically for auction at a fundraiser to restore this old church, the painting went for $750.00. Oil on canvas. Painting size 18" x 24"

Hurdles

Hurdles

I have a dear friend that was a scholar athlete at UNC Chapel Hill back in her college days, so the painting is specifically of her and for her. She just recently had a milestone birthday and within the last 10 years has battled some personal hurdles such as breast cancer. She's someone I've always looked up to and admired and she has crossed many hurdles in her lifetime. Painting is oil on plywood. Size 33" x 24"
